People who struggle with addiction are susceptible to relapse (the return to substance use after a period of abstinence). This can be devastating for newly recovering addicts and for their families.
In the absence of support, relapse can crush the hope of a new beginning. However, with the right support, a relapse can be turned into a learning experience which creates a stronger foundation for long-term recovery.
