Alumni
One of the best ways you can be of service is to become a Renascent Contact – introducing newly sober clients or family members to 12-step members and meetings in your community.
Our contacts program is vital to the success of alumni as outcome studies indicate that alumni who regularly attend 12-step meetings and work as a sponsor are twice as successful.
Since more and more Renascent alumni live throughout Canada and the world, we’re looking to build a global network of Renascent Contacts.
During the final week of a client's 21-day Primary Care treatment program at Renascent, our counsellors will facilitate the initial telephone contact between a Renascent Contact and the soon-to-be discharged client. Where possible we try to match women with women and men with men.
For family members, we will facilitate contact between a family client and a Renascent Contact in week three of Essential Family Care.
As a Renascent Contact you are free to accept or decline any opportunities presented to you.
You don’t need to be a Renascent alumnus to serve as a Renascent Contact.
To ensure you get the best experience out of this service, it’s important to remember a Renascent Contact is not an automatic sponsor, best friend, therapist or a substitute for a 12-step program.
To become a Renascent Contact, please read eligibility and confidentiality requirements.
